Vieste is a small town on the most eastern part on the Gargano penninsula. It is a small fishing village that offers the turist many colorful sights, cultures and tradition. The blue of the water is one of the most memorable aspects of the visit.

The history of vieste is soaked red in blood. Between the 15th and 16th centuries the town was attacked by pirates from all over mediteranean, aspecially Turkey. In ancient time Vieste was an attractive strategic location for conquerrors and war-like peoples. In the historic section of the village there is a rock called chianca amara where thousands of viestani were decapitated by the turkish leader Dragut rais.
At the night lights from the castle built by kind federico the 2nd of svevia can be seen from all over Vieste. Now the red of vieste is visible in the magnificent sunset. When visiting this wondelful village the turist must spend the night on the beach at least once to watch the sunset and the sunrise.
